Hi Pilots,
We did not get enough pilots signed up to have a contest. A few people that had planned to fly can't make it. So we are cancelling the contest. However, there are still some people looking to learn more about IMAC flying, so we'll make this a 1-day event on Saturday, August 22nd. I'll post more details soon on the event page.
Even though Mother Nature has taken her best swing at us over the last four contests, the South Central spirit is still very much alive. Storms, flooded fields, and unpredictable weather have forced several cancellations, but they haven’t slowed down the passion, skill, and dedication this region is known for. Every pilot, CD, and club has shown resilience, patience, and a commitment to keeping our season moving forward.
There is plenty of flying left in the 2026 season, and the calendar ahead is packed with opportunities to get back in the air, reconnect with friends, and keep sharpening those sequences. Whether you’re chasing points, shaking off the rust, or just enjoying a weekend at the field, the upcoming contests are ready for you. The setbacks we’ve had don’t define our season—they just make the good weekends even better.
So keep your heads up, keep your batteries charged, gas tanks full, and join us at a contest soon. The South Central region thrives because of its pilots, and your presence on the flightline is what makes every event worth hosting. We’ll see you at the Fort Worth Thunderbirds RC field June 27 & 28 for some fun!
Our contest this coming weekend will be a one day contest, Saturday only. Pilots meeting 845 and flying starts at 9.
